Bipolar Disorder

According to the Mayo Clinic, bipolar disorder is a mood disorder that is characterized by an individual experiencing extreme mood swings between high periods (mania) and low periods (depression). Individuals going through a depressive phase of bipolar disorder experience many of the same symptoms as someone with depression, including loss of interest in activities and a general feeling of sadness. Manic phases are characterized by an increase in energy and feelings of euphoria.

We know that having to manage both aspects of bipolar disorders individually is already challenging, but it can be debilitating to handle the contrast between these phases. At Madrigal, we’re here to provide psychotherapy to help you manage your bipolar episodes and meet you where you’re at on your treatment journey.
